Welcome to the 4^th Edition of the European Students Research Conference!

We are thrilled to announce that this year's conference will be hosted by  University of Applied Sciences Velika Gorica, with the support of VIVES University of Applied Sciences. This event is a cornerstone for fostering collaboration, innovation, and excellence in the fields of safety, security, and risk management.

Why is this conference so important?

The European Students Research Conference (ESRC) is more than just an event; it is a platform where minds from across Europe come together to share their research, exchange ideas, and build networks that transcend borders. Originating from a visionary CONRIS meeting in 2007, where representatives from various universities discussed the potential for cooperation in safety and security management, the ESRC has grown into a significant annual gathering.

Our Journey:

• 2007: Martin Langer of FH Campus Wien initiated discussions on forming a network for safety and security management courses.
• 2009: The Cooperation Network for Risk, Safety and Security studies (CONRIS) was established, formalizing the collaboration through a letter of intent signed in Hamburg.
• 2014: The first CONRIS Summer Course was launched, setting a precedent for annual educational events hosted by different Universities.
• 2018: The Disaster Risk Management training was developed in cooperation with the Disaster Risk Management Knowledge Center (DRMKC).
• 2022: The first edition of the European Students Research Conference for Risk, Safety and Security took place
• 2022 – 2024 the the conference was hosted by FH Campus Wien University of Applied Sciences
• 2025 the conference will be hosted by University of Applied Sciences Velika Gorica and VIVES University of Applied Sciences
